Who are we?

Here at 1st Consett Scout Group, we provide Scouting to young people in and around the Consett area of County Durham.

We are one of the oldest groups in the region, there have been scouts at consett since 1910. We are also one of the largest and are still growing with six sections and approximately 130 youth members.

We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. If you're up for learning some new skills, making friends for life and having lots of fun, contact us for a chat.

Scouts prepares young people with skills for life – helping them speak up and play their part. Each week we give almost half a million people aged 6-25 the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience & skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians.

We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.
